The name Yingli Green Energy really is becoming a household name now. Yingli solar panels are not only becoming more and more popular in Australian solar power systems, but many big, utility scale solar projects around the world are also opting to use them. After powering the soccer world cup in Brazil, Yingli have supplied a number of large projects and are now supplying 12 000 solar panels for a system in the Hubei Province, China.

Yingli Green Energy will be suppling 3MW’s of solar PV modules to the Wuhan Dongxihu Bonded Logistics Center, a large-scale distribution and import-export facility located in the city’s bonded logistics zone.

The solar power system will be shared over 4 warehouse rooftops covering a total of 39 000 square meters and producing around 39 million kilowatt hours of clean energy each and every year. 80% of this will be used by the logistics centre itself while the remaining 20% is to be fed in to the municipal utility grid.

Construction will commence in September 2014 and is expected to be completed by February 2015.

“We are pleased to provide our solar modules to this important demonstration project in Hubei province,” said Mr. Liansheng Miao, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Yingli Green Energy. “Institutions throughout Hubei province’s bonded logistic zone have transitioned to sustainable, low-carbon energy generation in recent years, and we are honored to once again supply an innovative PV project in this region.”

This is Yingli’s second big announcement in less than a week – a few days prior they announced that they were supplying a 2MW solar plant in Senegal with Senelec. Yingli Green Energy is already the world’s largest photovoltaic module manufacturer in terms of production capacity and shipments with distribution of 10 000MW’s of PV modules shipped worldwide – and counting!
