Electric Car industry is Driving Development of Battery Technology

The world consumes 20 trillion kWh of energy each year, which would power a single family home for 1.8 billion years.

Of all the fossil fuel consumed in the world, a significant amount is used in transportation and electricity production. The electricity generation sector alone produces a million metric tons of CO2. It would require billions of acres of forest to negate the environmental damage.

Imagine electricity grids moving off fossil fuels and towards renewable energy sources?

Renewable energy sources are the way of our future for our power consumption, they will see to it that half of the dirtiest power generation resources could retire early. Once this happens we will have a cleaner, smaller, and more resilient energy grid.

Tesla Energy, are planning on introducing a suite of batteries for private homes and small businesses, and working with electricity utilities to provide clean energy to help move away from fossil fuels.

Tesla aims at being far more than just an automotive company, it’s now also an energy innovation company. Tesla Energy aims for zero emission power generation.

Tesla is working with utilities and other renewable supply partners around the world to rollout energy storage on the grid with powerful clean energy improving the grid as a whole.

Tesla Battery Technology in Vehicles

Hybrid systems.

Electronic inverter chargers with programed innovated software, together with solar power, batteries and the grid, will be the first step towards self-sufficiency.

Tesla

Tesla is aiming to roll-out their new Powerwall, which is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery bank. By consuming power in off-peak times, to charge batteries and self-consumption of solar power generation, for residential and small business owners is the way of the future. Harnessing excess solar power with integrated inverter chargers with Fronius and SolarEdge inverters will allow flexibility to electricity consumers like never before.

Energy storage has many advantages for customer including:

  • Off peak usage – Battery storage can provide financial advantages to their owner by charging during off-peak periods when electricity consumptions is lower and discharging during more peak periods when electricity is expensive and in high demand.
  • Consuming 100% of solar power generation either in self use or by using surplus solar energy to charge batteries and use the power later when the sun isn’t available.
  • By storing power, one has the added advantage of having electricity during power outages.
