Today marks the start of the Clean Energy Week which is being held in South Brisbane at the Convention and Exhibition Centre. Thousands of delegates are expected to attend one of the industry’s biggest renewable energy events of the year.

Clean Energy Week BrisbaneClean Energy Week is hosted by the Clean Energy Council (CEC) and will bring everything from the latest news, to policy updates as well as technologies old and new. According to the website, this year’s Clean Energy Week will incorporate ATRAA (Australia’s largest solar event), a huge trade exhibition, two awards programs and a clean energy debate on the 2013 conference theme of ‘rethinking energy’.

“The new Climate Change Minister Mark Butler and Greens Leader Christine Milne are scheduled to speak, providing a fascinating look into their pre-election thinking,” said Clean Energy Council Chief Executive David Green. “Queensland Energy Minister Mark McArdle will also join a top-flight line-up of national and international speakers who will challenge and illuminate delegates in equal measure.”

In addition to the above, many other Secretaries and Government Ministers will also have their say as well as ARENA’s CEO, Ivor Frischknecht.

There are also many social functions, dinners and galas held over the next three days that are definitely not to be missed. The event holds vital information on the solar industry all in one place and provides a great networking opportunity. Many contacts will be introduced and deals made.
