ConergyConergy’s ‘high quality standards’ have secured them a second large-scale project in Thailand. The project consists of three 10.5MW developments in the countries west.

Conergy have been hired as the general contractor for these three projects by Bangkok based company, Siam Solar Energy (SSE). SSE have worked with Conergy last year when they got approval for two similar projects totalling 21MW which are to be connected in the first quarter of 2013 along with these three additional projects. Their total capacity is 52.5MWs.

“We are impressed by Conergy’s high quality standards,” says Cathleen Maleenont, SEE COO, “We continue to put our trust in highly efficient parks conforming to European standards and have therefore decided once again in favour of Conergy as a strong partner for this major order.”

The three 10.5MW projects will take a total of 790 000 square meters of land in Thailand’s Western provinces of Suphanburi and Kanchanaburi, about 130kms from Bangkok. The 130 000 Conergy P Series modules will produce around 45 200 megawatt hours worth of clean energy.

As the general contractors, Conergy will be responsible for planning, engineering, design as well as component supply and installation. They will be teaming up with local partners, Annex Power and Ensys for ground construction.

Conergy Chief Sales Officer, Mark Lohoff said, “Currently, Thailand has to cover around half of its primary energy demand with imports, which is very costly in the long run. We therefore want to further increase our market share of around 10% and benefit from the growth potential, drawing on our extensive experience.”

The project is considered a win-win situation with Conergy set to increase its market share and the Thailand Government supporting the renewable energy source so as to decrease its enormous and costly energy imports.
