The Renewable Energy Corporation ASA, more commonly known as REC, has just announced three new solar power installations in North Carolina – widely known as the solar power hotspot of the USA. The three utility scale solar projects combined total just under 20MW’s capacity.

They will be developed, engineered and constructed by Strata Solar LLC and use around 80 000 REC 250W Peak Energy Series solar panels.

Combined, the solar installations are said to provide clean, renewable energy for almost 2 500 homes, offsetting over 13 300 tonnes of carbon annually. The 16 hectares of ground mounted solar panels were commissioned in the first half of 2013.

“We are commitment to using best-in-class components,” says Markus Wilhelm, Strata Solar’s CEO. “We are impressed by the quality of REC solar panels, and also by the fact that REC keeps its delivery promises and stands behind its product. These standards are core to our building world class facilities on schedule and to the high standard that we both demand and deliver.”

REC is also inviting everyone to view the release of the second quarter results through a conference on their website or as a conference call. The President and CEO of the company and his management team will hold a presentation at 8am Norwegian time on July 18th 2013.
