This month, Stiebel Eltron celebrates 90 years in the industry. Starting off as a small family business committed to efficiency, they are now a world leading empire.

Stiebel was found in 1924 by Dr Theodor Stiebel in Germany. From humble beginnings, the company now sell their world class products in 120 countries around the world. Stiebel Eltron is one of the world leaders in Renewable Energy Technologies with a strong focus in heat pump technology for the provision of hot water, heating and cooling as well as ventilation systems with heat recovery.

As early as 1974 Stiebel Eltron began developing heat pump technology and over the last 40 years has invested heavily within this sector. Their commitment to heat pump technology has seen investment in the largest heat pump manufacturing facility in Europe to support the increasing demand of heat pump technology worldwide.

Along with this anniversary comes Stiebel’s 20th birthday in Australia! To celebrate these two amazing milestones, Stiebel Eltron held a dinner at Brisbane’s Portside Wharf on Friday 23rd of May and Evolution Solar Sunshine Coast was privileged enough to attend.

The picture on the right shows Evolution Solar Director, Mickey Harris with chairman of the board of management for Stiebel Eltron International, Rudolf Sonnemann. Mr Sonnemann has been a key driving force behind the investment into heat pump technology. His commitment to renewable technology has seen the investment of 18 million Euros for the development of the largest heat pump manufacturing facilities in Europe capable of manufacturing over 25,000 heat pumps annually.
