REC has installed a 5.5kW array at the Desert Knowledge Australia Solar Centre (DKASC) for the purpose of testing performance in the Australian hot and harsh conditions. The results of the REC panels and other leading brands will serve as proof of the longevity and reliability of leading solar panels in the Australian environment.

REC placed Peak Energy 250W solar panels in the array that is to be tested and compared among other competing panels. The site will be continually monitored and the REC Group hope to show a strong performance. Results and data will be taken, tested and compared between different solar panel brands. The outcomes will be released in early 2013.

The REC Group also had some panels installed in the hot, severe conditions of India at the Pandit Deen Dayal University (PDPU), located in the North West corner of India. They had a great outcome with an overall yield of 2% higher than what was predicted. Testing temperatures often exceeded 70 degrees Celsius.

With such great results coming out of India, the REC Group is confident that their panels will also produce good results in Australian conditions.
